Writing
I can't run away from writing.
Someday, I'm going to enter the great world of publishing and people will actually WANT to hear what I have to say. Until then, I'll just talk to myself.
I am a writer. But for now, those writerly skills are being used as a legal secretary (I can type 100 wpm on a good day, and I'm not bad at proofreading and drafting documents either). But after work, I write.
I've written four novels and hacked those novels to death multiple times (aka rewriting). The first is languishing in a box, slowly forgetting it that it even exists. The second is wandering around on its own, somewhat lost and confused. I leave it alone. The other two are in the hacking to death stage.
And when I say hacking to death, I mean it almost literally. The first draft of novel number four was so excruciatingly boring that I just started typing all over again.
When the day comes I finally get something that is a final draft, I'll enter the big scary world of publishing. For now, I'll just keep typing.
